MLC The week previous to to MLC our mission prayed and fasted for the Lord's direction on how to open an effectual door for the many people the Lord has prepared for his gospel. For about an hour we counseled as a Mission Leadership Council about what we needed to do and what was the Lord's. will I felt the power that comes when disciples come seeking the Lord's will. What did we leave knowing?
Personally: We had to quit comparing, competing, and feeling inadequate. It is unity that brings oneness. Oneness with the Lord and oneness with each other brings the ability to know what the Lord wants us to do. "Whatsoever ye shall ask in faith, being united in prayer according to my command, ye shall receive." D&C 29:6
We have to break old habits and quit just going through the motions. Business is not a badge and we need to remember we worship the Lord and not obedience. Using constant prayer and asking, "Am I following to be an instrument? " The process leads to praying with faith.
When we involve Him it takes the pressure off and we know the Lord puts people in our path. Believe in the power of proximity. If we are inspired to go a certain place or if we are given a referral and then it doesn't work out; keep going - pay attention - someone is in the proximity.
Pray for the gift of discernment. See people as Christ sees them and treat people as Christ would treat them. Recognize that there is much revelation that will happen while praying the night before.
Call back to use what the Lord has already given and trust it. God has already revealed "Preach My Gospel", words from the prophets and scriptures. USE THEM! Use the Doctrine of Christ.
As President (the key holder) and I continued pondering the counsel, a couple of things really stood out to us and he talked about those ideas at the following zone conference and gave an assignment. The assignment was:
Every missionary should quickly read through "Preach my Gospel" without doing any of the activities or looking up any of the scriptures - paying attention to revelation already given that might not currently being used and valued.
