We had the first mission leadership council for the Arkansas, Bentonville mission. There were 41 of us. We put out several questions and had all kinds of responses. I love how proficient and insightful our missionaries are. At one point there had been lots of ideas given on a particular subject. We had a break and Elder _______ suggested that we have another prayer. He offered a powerful prayer petitioning the Lord to reveal His will to the President. Immediately after the prayer the President said, "This is what we should do..." For me it was a great outpouring of the Lord's spirit. I felt of the great faith of the leaders of the mission. It is great to be fellow servants with them.
Everyone came fasting to the MLC.
*Counseled: Decided to add at least 4 contacted referrals and at least one baptism each week to our Standard of Excellence.
*After counseling we came to the mission home and dedicated the home.
*Elder Stevens played a medley of songs about the Savior using the violin he had made himself. The sound was beautiful!
*After dinner each missionary shared someone who had been a shepherd to them. Of course some missionaries shared about their parents and grandparents. Several shared people who had been in the ward's in which they'd served. One shared about his bishop and another about his stake president. I could't help but think that I have the opportunity to be a shepherd.
Exercise, breakfast, personal study, & group study. Several shared the talks on "In the Strength of the Lord". (President had previously asked the entire mission to write a couple of talks focusing on, "In the Strength of the Lord" during his first tour.)
After morning routine we went to the Samaritan Center and served. It seemed fitting to serve the community that will be our home.
Great few days.
