When my children were growing up I loved the song, "Miss Lucy called the doctor, Miss Lucy called the nurse, Miss Lucy called the lady with the alligator purse." Sunday Elder and Sister Averett came. I feel like Sister Averett is all of those combined - doctor, nurse, and lady with the alligator purse.
When I was a little girl Sister Averett worked as a nurse for my father who was a doctor. My father passed away 20+ years ago. After the Averetts arrived here in Bentonville, Elder Averett was telling my children a little about my father because my dad passed away before they were born. Elder Averett said that he had been like a father to Sister Averett. Of course, I was too young to know that. As I thought about the situation I appreciated the irony that once my dad watched over her and now Elder and Sister Averett are watching over me. Since last Sunday when they arrived they've done a fair share of dish doing, worked on apartments, drove the van with missionaries, trained new missionaries in health and apartment care, fixed the towel rack, and provided comic relief.
I believe those on the other side know and help those of us living on the earth. I think my dad had something to do with the Averett's serving a mission. Thank's dad!

When Sister Averett saw Elder Morris she said, "You're tall." So they measured to see who was tallest.
While introducing the newly arrived missionaries to the adult missionaries, Elder Smith couldn't remember her title. He looked over and said, "What do we call you?" She responded without a pause, "Princess." (Sister Fowler is in the back ground)
